Fabio Capello has warned Juventus that the match officials could be decisive in the Champions League Final with Real Madrid, insisting that is why he has always pushed for technology to be used.

“The referee is always an important element of any Final and could be decisive,” he told Tuttosport. “This is why I have always been in favour of VAR and new technology.

“You cannot let a whole year’s work be cancelled out by an error, even if it is in good faith, of a referee or his assistant.”
