Having seen their first attempt to sign Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain fail, Juventus remain hopeful of concluding a deal.
Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis has so far held firm despite interest from the Bianconeri, as he doesn’t want to sell his star player to a Serie A rival.
Juve are aware that in order to secure Higuain’s services they will almost certainly have to meet his €94.7 million release clause before July 31.
Before any action is taken however, it is understood director general Beppe Marotta will wait patiently to see how negotiations regarding the potential transfer of Paul Pogba to Manchester United plays out in the coming days.
Juventus may well be encouraged to act fast given the latest reports in France, which claim that Paris Saint-Germain have rekindled their interest in Higuain, whom they view as an ideal replacement for the recently departed Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Ligue 1 champions would be able to use De Laurentiis’ insistence on negotiating the sale of Higuain with foreign clubs to their advantage.
