Agent Mino Raiola admits he never would’ve bought Gonzalo Higuain for such a large sum of money as Juventus did last summer, but insists he has proven to be worth every penny.
“I would never have bought the Argentine for that much money,” the agent told Corriere dello Sport. “Instead, in the end, Juve were right.
“Thanks to Higuain’s goals, they won the sixth title a row, the third Coppa Italia in a row and reached the final of the Champions League for the second time in the last three years.
“In terms of the transfer market, the deal also weakened Napoli. They played such wonderful football, but where would they have finished if they kept Higuain?
“Mario Mandzukic, however, is the player that I would take immediately. At Juve he made an exceptional breakthrough: he has steadily become a top international player.”
