After seeing his side comprehensively outplayed by Fiorentina, Claudio Marchisio warned his Juventus team-mates that they must not expect to coast through games on ability alone.

“It wasn’t a great performance from us,” Marchisio told Sky Italia. “So we just have to look forward. That’s the most important thing because we’re being tested every three days and you always have to be ready.

“We’re happy to have won five Scudetti in a row, but our goal is to never stop and to always improve, not only in lifting trophies but in everyday life.

“We know we have a good squad with good qualities, but in order to express those qualities we have to work every day, because you can’t go anywhere on talent alone.”
